Professional Experience

I started my professional experience working my way through college as a bookkeeper and a short-order cook in Henderson and Buncombe Counties of NC. From there, I gained experience through employment at three corporations, a municipality, multiple nonprofits, a few small businesses, and two of my own businesses.

 

I'm creative, a fast learner, excellent communicator, efficient problem solver, and an engaging team player with a wide range of skills. An overview of my experience is included below, and more information is available on my resume.

  • Writing and production of weekly and monthly e-newsletters for the Asheville Symphony, Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce, Willow Healing Arts, and more

  • Copy creation and design for marketing materials

  • Presentation of educational information to a wide range of stakeholders and audiences

  • Project and program management to ensure on-time completion of projects, tracking of data, and consistent delivery of services 

  • Financial management and accounting for nonprofits and small businesses

    • A/P, A/R, payroll, banking, restricted fund management, grant allocations​

    • Reconciliation for multiple accounts, program areas, and revenue streams

    • Budget creation and financial reporting up to $25M

  • Problem solving to create efficiencies and address issues quickly

  • Staff and contractor direction, management and training to ensure business success

  • Planning and execution of fundraising and special events

  • Implementation and expansion of food scrap and recycling collection programs
